Round 28 in this week’s Premier League action features a Friday night tussle in the west midlands between Wolves and Aston Villa at Molineux, along with all-London derbies between Fulham and Tottenham at Craven Cottage along with Arsenal taking on Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium, the latter two fixtures being on Sunday afternoon.

Our Sofascore recommended XI for Round 28 features some household names as well as some new bargain-priced players who represent great value for money for their respective clubs and aspiring Fantasy managers alike.

So, without further ado, let’s get into Round 28 of the EPL…

Formation: 3-5-2

Emiliano Martínez  (Wolves v ASTON VILLA) – €6.0M

Relegation-bound Wolves only have pride left to play for as Championship football beckons for the hosts next season but they’d love to put a spanner in the works of Aston Villa’s ambitions of a top four finish with a result at Molineux.

However, standing in the way of Wolves and the back of the Villa net is Argentinian goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez who is the second-cheapest option per Fantasy points (behind only to Robin Roefs from Sunderland).

Martínez has collected a total of 130 Fantasy points to date as well as possessing a Sofascore rating of 7.03 and he has kept 5 clean sheets in his previous 12 appearances against Wolves.

Marcos Senesi (BOURNEMOUTH v Sunderland) – €6.6M

Bournemouth bring a useful-looking seven-match unbeaten sequence in the Premier League into Saturday lunchtime’s clash with Sunderland at the Vitality Stadium with the hosts picking up four wins in the process.

Bournemouth defender, Marcos Senesi, has been a consistent and reliable performer at the heart of The Cherries defence this season and the Argentinian has achieved a total of 158 Fantasy points so far this season, ranking in 8th place for Defenders.

Senesi is also top of Bournemouth’s player Sofascore ratings with 7.17 to his name.

Nathan Collins  (Burnley v BRENTFORD) – €7.8M

Brentford are also enjoying life in the English top flight as The Bees currently occupy 7th place in the Premier League table which seemed unlikely at the start of this season when key personnel left the Gtech Community Stadium, not least former manager Thomas Frank.

However, Keith Andrews has inspired his charges this term and defender Nathan Collins has been amongst numerous players who have stepped up to the plate in terms of producing consistent performances this season.

132 Fantasy points along with a Sofascore rating of 6.81 indicates a defender that should not be overlooked in Round 28.

Virgil van Dijk  (LIVERPOOL v West Ham) – €8.7M

The following defender needs very little introduction as the Dutch stopper is well-known to many Fantasy managers, not least this season as Liverpool’s talisman in defence has racked up an impressive total of 179 Fantasy points so far in this season’s campaign.

In addition, van Dijk sits top of Liverpool’s Sofascore player ratings with a score of 7.28 (edging ahead of Dominik Szoboszlai) as well as chipping in with 2 goals so far this term.

van Dijk has been on the winning side 13 times in 17 previous appearances against West Ham.

James Garner (Newcastle Utd v EVERTON) – €6.9M

On the other side of Stanley Park in merseyside, Everton’s James Garner has also produced industrious displays for The Toffees which have helped David Moyes’ side into a top half position of 9th place in the Premier League table.

Garner sits top of Everton’s Sofascore player ratings in the Premier League with an impressive score of 7.30 which has been helped by the midfielder pitching in with 2 goals and 3 assists so far in this season’s campaign.

In addition, James Garner sits in 4th place in terms of Fantasy points earned by Midfielders this season with a total of 152 points under his belt.

Rodri (Leeds Utd v MANCHESTER CITY) – €7.2M

Manchester City approach this upcoming encounter away from home against Leeds United at Elland Road with Pep Guardiola’s side in ominous form having won seven of their last eight matches in all competitions.

Spanish midfielder, Rodri, has been hampered by injuries during this current Premier League campaign but nevertheless he has a Sofascore rating of 7.41 heading into this clash and although he has yet to get on the scoresheet this term, the Spanish international has scored 2 goals and 1 assist in his previous five games against Leeds United.

He still remains one of Pep’s jewels in a star-studded Manchester City outfit.

Ibrahim Sangaré (Brighton v NOTT’M FOREST) – €5.7M

It’s been a tough and long Premier League campaign for Nottingham Forest this season as the Tricky Trees find themselves embroiled in a relegation battle and the east midlands club have appointed a fourth manager in the shape of Vitor Pereira within this season alone in order to try and find a way to survive.

One of the shining lights so far this term though has been the form of Ivory Coast midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré who possesses a Sofascore rating of 7.05 together with having scored 2 goals and produced 2 assists to date.

Sangaré has also racked up a total of 74 Fantasy points so far this season and looks a solid and reasonably priced option for Round 28.

Alex Iwobi  (FULHAM v Tottenham) – €8.0M

The first of two all-London encounters on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League sees Fulham taking on Tottenham at Craven Cottage with the mid-table hosts keen to secure a third win on the trot overall, while Tottenham are now desperate for points in a bid to escape unthinkable relegation from the top flight.

Former Arsenal and Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi, may be the second-most expensive player in our recommended Sofascore XI for Round 28 but he has some encouraging numbers under his belt this season.

A Sofascore rating of 7.00 has been backed up by chipping in with 3 goals and 3 assists to date, contributing to an overall Fantasy point tally of 102 as well as an excellent form rating of 7.3 (level with Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes).

Daichi Kamada  (Manchester Utd v CRYSTAL PALACE) – €5.5M

Crystal Palace returned to winning ways last time out in the Premier League with a 1-0 home win against relegation favourites Wolves last weekend but The Eagles face a tough assignment in the shape of in-form Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

If Palace are to get anything out of this upcoming encounter then the likes of Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada will be key to potential success as he has produced a solid and consistent campaign this season.

With a Sofascore rating of 6.93, the attacking midfielder represents great value at just €5.5M!

Gabriel Martinelli  (ARSENAL v Chelsea) – €6.4M

The second of the London derbies in the Premier League will unfold on Sunday afternoon at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal take on Chelsea with The Gunners looking to take a step closer to the league title, while Chelsea will be desperate to remain in contention for a possible top four finish.

In some regards, Brazilian forward, Gabriel Martinelli, has been the forgotten man at Arsenal but with Bukayo Saka likely to miss out through injury on Sunday, Martinelli’s services are expected to be called upon by manager Mikel Arteta.

Martinelli has scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists to date amongst a Sofascore rating of 6.63 as well as picking up 33 Fantasy points so far – he has also scored 2 goals against Chelsea in previous appearances.

Richarlison (Fulham v TOTTENHAM) – €6.1M

Another Brazilian forward in the shape of Richarlison features in our Sofascore Fantasy side for Round 28 as he continues his return from injury with game minutes being carefully managed.

However, Spurs are in real need of his exploits in front of goal as they look to lift themselves further away from the relegation zone, especially as Richarlison still remains Tottenham’s leading goalscorer with 7 goals to his name.

In addition, Richarlison has contributed 3 assists so far this season within an overall Sofascore rating of 6.85 and looks a steal at just €6.1M this weekend.
