MLS 2026: New York Red Bulls Team Guide

After fifteen consecutive years of reaching the MLS playoffs, the New York Red Bulls finally fell short of that standard in 2025. As a result, both fans and players have demanded swift change and a return to form for 2026. New roster additions and a fresh head coach are sure to breathe life into a club that must now prove that last year was just a fluke. There will undoubtedly be some thrilling matchups as the Red Bulls race to secure their spot at the end of the season.
New York Red Bulls Team Overview
The New York Red Bulls are currently in a transitional period in which the next generation of talent is being called to perform. Amidst numerous key departures of veteran players, this year’s new coach, Michael Bradley, must use his experience from the MLS Next Pro Leagues to rally the younger players. Expect contentious matchups all season, especially in both games against their rival, NYCFC.
By far the biggest shakeup of the 2026 MLS season is the massive World Cup hiatus taking place from May 25 to July 21st. Not only will the Red Bulls need to stay sharp during the break, but they will also contend with a packed schedule in the second half. The league must cram as many matches as possible into August, September, and October to ensure a full season is completed.
