Canzone’s grand slam powers Mariners past Astros 10-2; Arozarena erupts with 4-hit, 4-run game

Dominic Canzone crushed a grand slam and drove in five runs, and Randy Arozarena delivered a monster all-around performance as the Seattle Mariners rolled past the Houston Astros 10-2 at Minute Maid Park.
Canzone Breaks the Game Open
Canzone’s slam highlighted a four-run fourth inning that broke the game open. The Mariners also scored twice in the second, added single runs in the fifth and seventh, and tacked on two more in the ninth. Canzone finished 1-for-4 with five RBIs, adding a sacrifice fly to his bases-loaded blast.
Arozarena’s Monster Night

Arozarena was everywhere for Seattle, going 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, three RBIs, four runs scored, a hit-by-pitch and a stolen base. Cal Raleigh chipped in a 2-for-4 night with a walk and three runs, while J.P. Crawford reached three times (1-for-3, two walks) and drove in two. Luke Raley reached three times (1-for-3, walk, HBP) and scored once.
Offensive Dominance
Seattle outhit Houston 11-5 and drew six walks while striking out just four times. The Mariners also left the yard twice and posted a .306 team batting average with a .422 OBP and .528 SLG.
Woo Sets the Tone
Bryan Woo (win) set the tone on the mound for Seattle, striking out nine over six innings while allowing four hits, two earned runs and two walks. Alex Hoppe followed with two perfect frames and two strikeouts, and Domingo González closed with a scoreless ninth.
Astros Fall Short
Houston’s offense managed single runs in the second and third. Braden Shewmake went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Christian Walker doubled in a run, and Zach Dezenzo doubled and scored. Jose Altuve was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Astros starter Tatsuya Imai was tagged for six earned runs (five hits, three walks) over four innings with three strikeouts, surrendering both Mariners homers. Jayden Murray (3 IP, 2 ER) and AJ Blubaugh (2 IP, 2 ER) finished out for Houston.
