Bayern and Barcelona draw 1-1: Kett goes from hero to red-carded

Franziska Kett turned Allianz Arena into a rollercoaster. The Bayern defender leveled against Barcelona on 69 minutes, then was sent off for violent conduct 11 minutes later. In between, Barcelona dominated the ball, Bayern owned the scraps, and the UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinal finished 1-1 in Munich.
Ewa Pajor had opened the scoring early for Barça, guiding in Esmee Brugts’ measured cross on 8 minutes. The visitors’ control was clear, but Bayern’s resilience matched it all night.
Early strike, bold reply
Barcelona landed first. After a neat left-side sequence, Brugts whipped in a precise cross and Pajor met it with a right-foot finish for 0-1. Bayern’s answer took time, but the move was worth the wait.
On 69 minutes, a flowing sequence down the right ended with Pernille Harder sliding a clever assist into Kett’s stride. The full-back drilled her shot past Catalina Coll for 1-1 and lit up the Allianz.
Possession vs duels: two game plans, one scoreline
Barcelona finished with 73% possession, 683 passes and 21 shots, including 7 on target and a Brugts effort off the woodwork. Bayern had 27% of the ball and 249 passes, but won 60% of all duels, made 20 tackles and cleared the danger 46 times.
Bayern’s back line lived on the front foot. Captain Glódís Viggósdóttir posted 12 clearances, and Vanessa Gilles added 8 plus a goal-line clearance. Ena Mahmutovic made 5 saves to keep the tie level. For Barça, the left axis purred: Mapi León completed 106 of 116 passes with 133 touches, while Patricia Guijarro was central with 121 passes and 4 shots.
