Caleb Taylor scored for a second successive weekend as Wycombe beat Bolton 2-0 to move into the automatic promotion places.
Former Bolton loanee Taylor, whose stoppage-time goal earned the Choirboys’ three points against Stevenage, struck again with a 58th-minute header from Luke Leahy’s free-kick.
Wycombe then wrapped up a priceless win at the Toughsheet Community Stadium when Leahy fired home in the 94th minute.
Victory took Mike Dodds’ visitors a point above Wrexham into second spot behind champions Birmingham, with three matches remaining.
However, defeat was a costly blow for Steven Schumacher’s Bolton in their bid to claim a play-off berth. Wanderers’ loss was their third in a row and sixth in eight games to keep them outside the top six with three matches remaining.
Neither side tested the keepers in a drab opening half when Bolton were forced into an early reshuffle following Jordi Osei-Tutu’s departure through injury.
They failed to record a single shot on target in the entire game as Taylor and Leahy gave Wycombe a deserved win.
