Draw

Wolves host Everton with the teams in 17th and 16th place in the Premier League standings, but with the bottom three clubs showing little sign of a revival, there is no need for either side to panic.

The Toffees are 10 points ahead of Wolves after their resurgence under David Moyes and are unbeaten in seven league matches, with their only recent setback coming against Bournemouth in the FA Cup.

Wolves were the Cherries' next victims in that competition, losing in a shootout after a 1-1 draw last week, but they had won three of their previous five matches in all competitions and look capable of picking up the points necessary to stay out of the reach of Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton.

Everton won the teams' first meeting this season 4-0 at Goodison Park in December but they have not triumphed on any of their last three visits to Molineux, losing twice including a 3-0 defeat last season.

Team news

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha begins a suspension of three matches that could yet be extended after he was sent off at Bournemouth.

Goncalo Guedes (knee) and Rodrigo Gomes (groin) are doubts due to injuries but Hwang Hee-Chan is available.

Sasa Kalajdzic (knee), Leon Chiwone (knee), Enso Gonzalez (knee), Yerson Mosquera (knee) and Emmanuel Agbadou (thigh) are all out.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is set to return to the Everton team after missing the Brentford match for family reasons.

Armando Broja (ankle) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (thigh) are back in contention but Seamus Coleman (calf), Orel Mangala (knee), Dwight McNeil (knee) and Iliman Ndiaye (knee) are still out.

The stats

Only one team has scored in each of the last three matches between these sides.

Just one of Wolves's last 11 matches has produced over 3.5 goals.

Wolves have conceded the first goal in six of their last eight league games.

Wolves have not been shut out in their last six matches.

Everton have not lost in their last seven Premier League games.

Both teams have scored in Everton's last four league matches.

There has been at least one first-half goal in Everton's last eight games.

Prediction

Wolves are the only realistic target for Ipswich and Leicester to catch if they can summon up a strong finish to the Premier League season but the Molineux men have the quality to keep those rivals at arm's length.

Vitor Pereira's team have an opportunity to pull clear over the next month with Southampton, West Ham and Ipswich next on their schedule and they are also capable of picking up a point against Everton.

The Toffees have proved to be hard to beat in recent outings, but they have won only one of their last five games after a hot streak at the end of January.

The last four matches of each team have been decided by no more than one goal and with the draw priced up at the best odds of the three main match outcomes, it makes plenty of appeal.
