Watford vs Millwall predictions: Hornets can make home advantage count

&w=707&quality=100)
- Watford have kept three straight clean sheets
- Millwall have won only one of their last five league games
- Recommended bet: Watford to win
Watford and Millwall are two sides that will still have outside hopes of clinching a place in the Championship play-offs.
However, time is running out and this Saturday lunchtime showdown looks a must-win for both.
The Hornets have spent large chunks of the campaign in the top-six but an underwhelming January saw a lot of their early hard work undone.
That said, Tom Cleverley's side have responded well in recent weeks, taking seven points from their last three games and keeping clean sheets on each occasion.
Millwall, four points behind 10th-placed Watford, have lacked consistency this season and they must respond to Tuesday's 2-0 home defeat to Bristol City.
The hosts should be the fresher of the pair having had no midweek engagement and they will be hoping that they can put home advantage to good use.
Team news
Watford remain without goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann, defender Kevin Keben, midfielder Pierre Dwomoh and striker Kwadwo Baah, who has been sidelined since the end of January.
Millwall are missing suspended goalkeeper Liam Roberts, who was shown a straight red card in last weekend's FA Cup defeat at Crystal Palace.
Boss Alex Neil is also without Macauley Langstaff, Ryan Leonard, Dan McNamara, Camiel Neghli and Calum Scanlon, who are sidelined through injury.
The stats
Watford have won 10 of their 17 home league games this season, the latest of which was a 2-0 success against Luton.
Since losing 4-0 to Leeds, Watford haven't conceded a goal in any of their last three Championship games.
The Hornets have scored seven penalties in the Championship this season, the most of any side in the division.
Millwall have won only one of their last six matches in all competitions.
Both teams have scored in only two of the last nine meetings between these sides, while goals have been scored by both teams in only four of Watford's last 11 home league matches.
Twelve of Millwall's last 16 away league games have gone under 2.5 goals.
Prediction
Watford manager Cleverley still believes they have the "firepower and quality" to make their presence felt on the Championship play-off picture and they can enhance their chances with a home win over Millwall.
The Hornets won only one of their eight league games between the middle of January and February but they have steadied the ship by taking seven points from their last three matches.
Wins to nil against Middlesbrough and Luton were backed up with a goalless draw at Stoke, where they dominated possession but were unable to create clear-cut opportunities.
However, this looks like a good time to be entertaining Millwall, whose only win in their last five league games came at rock-bottom Derby.
The Lions had only one shot on target in their latest 2-0 defeat at home to Bristol City and they may not get much joy out of Watford, who have kept three successive clean sheets and are pretty reliable at home, with 10 wins from 17 Championship clashes.
