Wales Women vs Italy Women predictions: Both can net in Swansea clash

&w=707&quality=100)
- Wales have already been relegated from the Women’s UEFA Nations League
- Italy looking for another success after beating the Dragons in February
- Recommended bet: Both teams to score
Wales Women have failed to win any of their five UEFA Nations League games this season and will probably have one eye on their forthcoming Euros debut when they entertain Italy Women at Swansea on Tuesday.
Their opponents will be hoping they can avoid a relegation play-off and head to the principality having kept clean sheets in their last two games against Denmark and Sweden.
Team news
Wales midfielder Sophie Ingle is doing well in her race to make the squad for the Euros after suffering a serious knee injury at the start of the season, but it is too early for her to be involved.
Meanwhile, Manchester City defender Mayzee Davies has been ruled out as the scans on the knee injury she picked up in Friday’s 1-0 defeat to Denmark have yet to be concluded.
Italy manager Andrea Soncin is set to select from the same squad that earned a goalless draw against Sweden on Friday.
The stats
&w=707&quality=100)
Wales have scored in 12 of their last 13 home matches.
Six of Wales’s last eight games have featured fewer than three goals.
The Dragons have lost one of their last eight on their own patch.
Both teams have scored in six of Italy’s last eight away games.
Italy have lost just two of their last 12 matches.
Prediction
Wales were left cursing their ill-fortune in Denmark on Friday as they were denied a Jess Fishlock goal due to an absence of goal-line technology, but the result will have relegated them in the Women’s UEFA Nations League anyway.
Now Rhian Wilkinson’s team have to pick themselves up and that should not be a huge problem as they have bigger fish to fry with their debut in the European Championship just round the corner.
The Dragons have a daunting task when they go to Switzerland after being hitched up in a group with England, France and the Netherlands, but they headed into the UEFA Nations League in strong form before things turned sour.
They were unable to gain a win in their opening five games and lost to Tuesday’s opponents Italy 1-0 in February.
The visitors are hotly fancied to complete a double, but this could prove to be a more open affair and the hosts will fancy they can head to Switzerland in strong spirits.
Italy have kept clean sheets in their last two games, which included an impressive 3-0 victory in Denmark, but Wales have failed to score in just one of their last 13 games and they can boost that record in Swansea on Tuesday.
