Kai Havertz wants to leave Chelsea this summer

Bayern Munich are set to rival Arsenal for the signing of Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.

The Bundesliga champions are losing hope of convincing Tottenham talisman Harry Kane or Napoli sensation Victor Osimhen to move to Bavaria.

And former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is now keen to poach Havertz.

Mikel Arteta's side remain favourites to land the German international according to The Guardian, despite seeing an initial £60million bid rejected.

The BBC say Arsenal are keen to get a deal over the line before they embark on their pre-season tour on July 9.

Havertz, 24, is eager to leave West London, where he has scored 32 goals in 139 games, including the winning strike in the 2021 Champions League final.

Stamford Bridge chiefs hope their forward’s age, existing contract — which runs until 2025 — and Bayern's interest will all force Emirates bosses to increase their offer to £70m.

Chelsea are aiming to offload a number of first-team players this summer to fund a squad revamp for new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
