Bayern Munich and Tottenham are around £25million apart in their valuations after the latest round of Harry Kane talks.

The England skipper's future has generated constant headlines this summer and the Bundesliga champions reportedly sent representatives to London yesterday.

Thomas Tuchel is determined to get a deal for Kane, 30, over the line but The Athletic claim Bayern are still well short of meeting Spurs' asking price.

With his contract due to expire next summer, Tottenham face losing their talisman for nothing but have so far held firm in negotiations.

Should Kane depart, reports in Spain suggest midfielder Franck Kessie and defender Clement Lenglet could be brought in from Barcelona to bolster Ange Postecoglou's squad.

And the Daily Mail claim £50m-rated Nottingham Forest and Wales whizkid Brennan Johnson is another target.

Kane is closing in on Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goalscoring record but is keen to win silverware having so far drawn a blank for club and country.

Spurs finished eighth in the English top flight last season and will not be competing for European honours this time around — Bundesliga champions Bayern can offer Champions League football.
