Bruno Fernandes is set to be the latest target for the Saudi Pro League as they ramp up their transfer plans for 2024.

Fernandes has been at Manchester United for nearly five years and was named their club captain in July.

But Italian journalist Rudy Galetti reports Saudi representatives are set to meet with the Portuguese international to discuss a move to the Middle East.

It follows rumours that Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah are also in line for an approach from Pro League chiefs as an increasing number of world stars become tempted by the riches on offer.

Fernandes has scored three goals and registered three assists in 15 appearances for United this season, inclding the winner at Fulham last Saturday.

And his departure would be a blow for a club who rely heavily on their ever-present attacking midfielder.

He came under fire for his petulant display in the 3-0 derby defeat to Manchester City, with ex-United captain Roy Keane suggesting he should be stripped of the armband.

But he will nevertheless be crucial to his side's chances in this week's crunch Champions League match away to FC Copenhagen.
