The pressure could be back on Ange Postecoglou after a visit from Leicester

- Spurs won 3-2 at Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday
- Leicester have lost seven Premier League games in a row
- Recommended bet:
Tottenham/Tie Half Time/Full Time

Ange Postecoglou earned himself a breather on Thursday by leading Tottenham to a 3-2 win at Hoffenheim in the Europa League, but it is Premier League points he needs now with Spurs far nearer the bottom three than top six.

Leicester at home ought to provide that opportunity with Ruud van Nistelrooy's side on a seven-game losing streak in the league.

Team news

Tottenham have been rocked by yet another injury, this time to main striker Dominic Solanke who faces six weeks out.

That means Postecoglou may have to start Richarlison up front for the second time in three days, even though the Brazilian has only just returned from a lay-off himself.

Yves Bissouma and Brennan Johnson could be fit to feature but Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Timo Werner headline a lengthy absentee list for the hosts.

New signing Woyo Coulibaly from Parma could make his debut in Van Nistelrooy's Foxes' defence but Wilfred Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira and keeper Mads Hermansen remain out.

The stats

In 35 Premier League meetings between these clubs, there have been 130 goals at an average of 3.7 per match.

These are two of six sides in the English top flight yet to be involved in a 0-0 draw.

Spurs have lost their last three Premier League matches, while Leicester have been defeated in their last seven.

Despite being 15th in the table, only leaders Liverpool have scored more league goals than Tottenham going into this weekend.

Spurs have lost 18 points from winning positions this season.

Leicester have conceded at least two goals in each of their last nine league and FA Cup appearances.

Prediction

Tottenham need a winnable home game in the Premier League right now and a visit from struggling Leicester ought to provide that.

Spurs are on a poor run domestically, losing three straight top-flight games, but that is nothing compared to a Leicester side who are on a seven-game losing streak.

One thing in Leicester's favour is that Tottenham played as recently as Thursday, eventually prevailing 3-2 in a demanding game at Hoffenheim in the Europa League, which will have taken a toll on an already depleted squad.

To that end, Tottenham look far too short at 2/5, especially as Leicester held them to a 1-1 draw at the King Power in the reverse fixture, with Spurs starting well before fading in the second half.

That's been a common theme of the Lilywhites’ season and, given their injury crisis, the same could easily happen again, making the big price available for a Tottenham/Tie Half Time/Full Time bet hugely appealing.
