Tottenham vs Brighton predictions: Mitoma can make his mark

&w=707&quality=100)
- Tottenham still celebrating first trophy success for 17 years
- Brighton head into final day in excellent form
- Recommended bet: Kaoru Mitoma to score at any time
Tottenham are on cloud nine following their 1-0 Europa League final victory over Manchester United on Wednesday, which was followed by an open-top bus tour on Friday, so there should be a party atmosphere at their final game of the season at home to Brighton.
However, the Seagulls will be no pushovers after such a memorable week, as they have won their last three matches, including a 3-2 success over newly crowned champions Liverpool on Monday.
Team news
Tottenham will be without Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, Dane Scarlett, James Maddison, Timo Werner and Lucas Bergvall.
Solly March, Ferdi Kadioglu and James Milner are missing for Brighton while Georginio Rutter, Jason Steele and Tariq Lamptey face late tests.
The stats
&w=707&quality=100)
There have been at least four goals in 16 of Brighton’s 37 league matches this season.
Tottenham have lost five of their last six Premier League games.
Kaoru Mitoma has scored in three of his last four games for Brighton.
The Seagulls have won their last three matches.
Spurs have kept just one clean sheet in their last 17 home league matches.
There have been over 2.5 goals in 11 of Brighton’s last 14 away league games.
Prediction
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou admitted that he had prioritised the Europa League campaign over the Premier League this season and, after getting his reward on Wednesday, it will be interesting to see what Spurs have left in the tank for their final league assignment of the season against Brighton.
The guess is probably not a lot after all the emotions of Wednesday’s victory in Bilbao and the organisation of the celebratory bus parade on Friday.
Their supporters will be up for a party on Sunday, but there looks a strong chance that the visiting Seagulls will be more on the ball and could at least bring Spurs down to earth with a bump if they are not completely focused.
Fabian Hurzeler’s side still have a chance of European qualification and they are finishing the season well, having won their last three games, which included a 3-2 victory over Liverpool on Monday.
They will go on the front foot and it would be a surprise if Japanese forward Kaoru Mitoma did not make a big impression.
The three goals he has scored in his last four matches have all come when he entered the fray as a substitute, and that should see him start in north London.
Expect him to take advantage of any faith his manager puts in him and he looks a big price to keep his fine recent scoring record going.
