Swansea vs Blackburn predictions: Rovers can heap more woe on Swans

&w=707&quality=100)
- Swansea looking to avoid fourth consecutive home Championship defeat
- Rovers look back in the groove after wins over West Brom and Plymouth
- Recommended bet: Blackburn to win
The managerless Championship pair of Swansea and Blackburn battle it out in Wales on Saturday and it is the home side who have the greater concerns after seven defeats in their last nine matches, a run which ended in manager Luke Williams being sacked.
Rovers head south under caretaker David Lowe following John Eustace’s move to Derby, but they look in better shape after winning their last two matches.
Team news
Swansea defender Kristian Pedersen and midfielder Joe Allen are set to miss out, but otherwise caretaker manager Alan Sheehan has no fresh injury or suspension concerns to contend with.
Blackburn will be without Owen Beck, Harry Pickering, Scott Wharton, Yuki Ohashi, Sondre Tronstad and Danny Batth.
The stats
&w=707&quality=100)
Swansea have lost seven of their last nine Championship matches.
The Swans have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine league games on their own patch.
Blackburn have failed to score in just two of their last 10 league away games.
Seven of Rovers’ last nine league road matches have featured fewer than three goals.
Blackburn have won three of their last four Championship outings, while they beat Swansea 1-0 in the reverse fixture.
Prediction
Swansea have had a 2025 to forget so far after slipping from ninth to 17th in the Championship standings and a miserable run of form has put paid to any realistic hope they can force their way into the second-tier play-off picture.
A 3-1 defeat at Stoke last week meant it was seven defeats in nine games for the Welsh outfit and that was enough for the club to part ways with manager Luke Williams.
The fallout from that decision is still being felt and it will be difficult for the team to get their act together after losing their last three home matches against Sheffield United, Coventry and Sheffield Wednesday.
Blackburn are going through their own changes after manager John Eustace decided to swap Rovers’ play-off push for a relegation battle at Derby, but the Lancastrians have found some decent form as they look to solidify their top-six spot.
David Lowe has taken the temporary reins and guided Rovers to successive 2-0 victories over play-off-rivals West Brom and struggling Plymouth, and they look to be back on course to extend their season.
They were the joint lowest scorers in the top half of the table alongside their arch-rivals Burnley before this weekend, but the troubles and uncertainty seem to be starker at Swansea, so it would not be a surprise if Lowe was able to celebrate a third successive win on Saturday.
