Southend are unbeaten in three National League games after winning 2-0 at home to Tamworth.
The Shrimpers took the lead after 11 minutes through Aribim Pepple, who showed great strength before firing past goalkeeper Jasbir Singh.
On-loan Luton forward Pepple then turned provider for Oli Coker to double Southend’s advantage from close range in the 16th minute.
Tamworth, who were on their own three-game unbeaten league run before heading to Roots Hall, were unable to find a way back into the match.
