Two goals from Richard Kone helped Wycombe to a 3-0 win at Stevenage.

Both of the striker’s goals came from horrible errors from the home side in the first half.

The eighth-minute opener was gifted to him by defender Carl Piergianni’s wayward pass.

He still had a lot to do but was able to bounce off an attempted foul before drilling the ball low inside the near post of goalkeeper Taye Ashby-Hammond.

The keeper was then at fault for the second shortly before the break when his scuffed clearance went straight to Kone.

Again there was plenty to do, but after taking a touch, Kone lofted the ball over the Stevenage stopper and into the empty net.

Boro made two changes for the start of the second half and it almost brought an instant reward as a corner was flicked up by one of the substitutes, Tyreece Simpson, but off the underside of the crossbar.

Any hope of a comeback was nipped in the bud in the 65th minute when Beryly Lubala headed home Wycombe’s third.

Kone should have had a hat-trick but was denied twice by Ashby-Hammond – the second from the penalty spot following a foul by Piergianni on Luke Leahy.
