- Recommended bet:
Real Madrid to win and both teams to score

Real Madrid are running out of time in the La Liga title race and need to get the better of Celta Vigo in this clash if they are to make up the four-point gap to Barcelona.

The visitors have had a very respectable campaign themselves and will be looking for a boost in the race for a European spot.

Team news

Real Madrid still have a number of defensive injuries, Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are set to miss the rest of the season with knee injuries, while the hosts will also be without Ferland Mendy, David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger.

Eduardo Camavinga will also miss out but Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior have been passed fit. Lucas Vazquez and Jude Bellingham will be available despite being sent off in the Copa del Rey final.

For Celta Vigo, Carl Starfelt is out and Jones El-Abdellaoui is a doubt.

The stats

There should be goals here, ten of Real Madrid's 16 La Liga home games this season have gone over 2.5 goals and Celta Vigo have netted eight times in their last four outings.

The hosts are unbeaten in the last 18 meetings between these two teams and have won the last 10. They have also been the first team to score in the last seven head-to-heads.

Nine of Celta Vigo's last 11 away La Liga games featured goals for both teams

Prediction

Real Madrid lost a tempestuous Copa del Rey final to Clasico rivals Barcelona last weekend and if they are to pip their foes to the La Liga title they need to get the better of Celta Vigo in this clash.

The fitness of Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe is a big boost for Carlo Ancelotti’s side but they still have plenty of issues defensively.

Celta Vigo have scored eight goals in their last four games and are fancied to get on the scoresheet once again.

Both teams have found the net in nine of the visitors’ last 11 away games and they could make an impression, although Real Madrid are fancied to come out on top.
