Leading 2-1 after the first encounter in Turin, Juventus will be looking to finish the job and secure their place in the Champions League last 16 when they travel to Philips Stadion to face PSV Eindhoven in their knockout phase play-off second leg on Wednesday night.

It was an intriguing encounter at Allianz Stadium for the first leg, a match that saw Samuel Mbangula score the decisive goal.

Weston McKennie bagged the opening goal of the game for Juve and the experienced Ivan Perisic equalised for PSV before Mbangula popped up with the winner on the night.

Now Juve head to the fortress that is Philips Stadion knowing that a draw will be enough to see the Old Lady through to the last 16 of the competition.

Team news

PSV have a number of injury concerns ahead of the second leg, with Rick Karsdorp and Olivier Boscagli expected to miss out.

Ricardo Pepi, Sergino Dest and Malik Tillman are all long-term absentees for the Dutch giants going into this one.

As for the visitors, Bremer, Juan Cabal and Arkadiusz Milik are all out of action with long-term injuries.

Manager Thiago Motta will also be unable to call upon Pierre Kalulu and Douglas Luiz with Wednesday's game coming too soon for the injured pair.

The stats

PSV are unbeaten in their last 19 home games in all competitions, with one having to go back to August 4, 2024 for their last defeat at Philips Stadion and even that required a penalty shootout against rivals Feyenoord.

Juventus currently find themselves in good form, winning all of their last four games in all competitions.

The Serie A giants have a habit of drawing away from home in the Champions League, having done so in all of their last three road games in the competition.

Juve have already beaten PSV twice this season, with last week’s first-leg win following on from a 3-1 success when the side’s met in the league phase back in September — although both those encounters did take place in Turin.

Prediction

With PSV such a tough nut to crack on their own patch and Juventus having a growing trend for draws on the road in the Champions League, another stalemate catches the eye here.

Juventus will look to keep things tight with their one-goal advantage and have the quality in their side to be able to grind out the draw that would be necessary to carry them through to those coveted last-16 places and a step closer to another Champions League final.
