Promotion-chasing Stockport ease to victory over lowly Crawley
Stockport retained their place in the League One play-off positions after a comfortable 2-0 victory over struggling Crawley.
First-half goals from Will Collar and Macauley Southam-Hales ensured Dave Challinor’s side back-to-back league wins for the first time since November.
Crawley goalkeeper Joe Wollacott was kept on his toes in the early stages as he denied Kyle Wootton and Ethan Pye from close range inside the opening 10 minutes.
County were dominating proceedings and they took a deserved lead on 25 minutes as Collar rose highest to head home an inviting Kyle Knoyle cross.
The hosts doubled their advantage nine minutes later as Southern-Hales got on the end of an excellent Wootton through ball and picked his spot in the bottom corner, just out of the reach of Wollacott.
Stockport had further chances to extend their lead in the second half with Collar’s header clipping the crossbar shortly after the break and Ibou Touray firing just over from the edge of the box.
