Porto vs Al Ahly predictions: Underachievers Porto set for painful farewell

&w=707&quality=100)
- Porto have one point from their two Group A games
- Al Ahly have yet to find the net in the tournament
- Recommended bet: Draw or Al Ahly Double Chance
It is a case of win or bust for Porto and Al Ahly in their final Group A encounter at the MetLife Stadium, though even victory for either side might not take them into the knockout stages.
A draw in the other group showdown between top two Inter Miami and Palmeiras would send both those clubs into the last 16.
Team news
Porto will be without first-choice keeper Diogo Costa for a third successive game with Claudio Ramos filling in once more.
Right-sided centre-back Martim Fernandes has a foot problem but is expected to be fit.
Al Ahly head coach Jose Riveiro is forced into one change with holding midfielder Marwan Attia suspended following a pair of yellow cards.
Without a goal and missing striker Emam Ashour – injured after 14 minutes of their opener – Riveiro is set to be positive with speculation in the Egyptian media that he will play four frontmen – Trezeguet, Zizo, Wisam Abu Ali, plus Achraf Bencharki.
The stats
Porto have scored one goal in two matches, Al Ahly none. Neither side has managed a goal from open play.
The Portuguese side have had only two yellow cards shown in their first two matches.
Al Ahly's 2-0 loss to Palmeiras snapped a 12-game unbeaten run for the Egyptians.
Al Ahly have managed 33 team tackles over the course of their first two games, 17 more than Porto.
Prediction
&w=707&quality=100)
Porto are odds-on to make light work of Egyptian triers Al Ahly in a clash between the bottom two clubs in Group A, but they come with no guarantees on current form.
There was disquiet over coach January appointment Martin Anselmi going into the tournament after a largely underwhelming season domestically, and those doubts have not been allayed by a pair of disjointed efforts which have seen them draw 0-0 with Palmeiras and lose 2-1 to Inter Miami.
Anselmi needs a win and a good performance and the fact that Al Ahly – like Porto – need to go for the victory to have any chance of going through, might play into their hands.
However, Al Ahly have acquitted themselves well enough in this tournament. They were arguably unlucky to draw 0-0 with Inter in their opener and then decent for long periods of their 2-0 loss to Palmeiras.
Defence is their strength but they have to show another side of their game against Porto because they must win to have a shot at progress.
Porto definitely are not as good as their odds infer and the Draw or Al Ahly Double Chance bet with LiveScore Bet looks the better option.
