Plymouth vs Cardiff City predictions: Pilgrims on the rise

&w=707&quality=100)
- Plymouth have won their last three home games in all competitions
- Cardiff have only won one of their 16 away matches in the Championship
- Recommended bet: Plymouth to win
Plymouth picked up a point from their crucial away trip against fellow strugglers Luton in midweek but they have been much better at home than they have on the road so will fancy their chances when they host Cardiff in this lunchtime kick-off.
The Bluebirds remain firmly in the relegation battle and their away record leaves plenty to be desired.
Team news
Plymouth striker Ryan Hardie is still struggling with a back issue that saw him miss Argyle’s midweek clash with Luton and he is a doubt. Brendan Galloway and Joe Edwards are also injury absentees for the hosts.
For Cardiff, midfielder Aaron Ramsey has just returned from a hamstring injury and could feature while David Turnbull, Ollie Tanner and Isaak Davies all look set to miss out. Jesper Delend is also a doubt.

The stats
Plymouth have taken 82 per-cent of their Championship points this season at home.
Cardiff have lost their last two away league games by a combined score of 9-1.
The Bluebirds have shipped 34 goals in 16 away league games, an average of 2.13 per match.
The visitors won the reverse fixture 5-0 in October and have not done the double over Argyle since the 1948/49 season.
The home side do have the worst defensive record in the division, conceding 67 times in 33 outings.
Prediction
Plymouth have improved hand over fist under new boss Miron Muslic and they could continue their upward curve with a win over fellow strugglers Cardiff.
The Green Army have recorded all six league wins at home and have been victorious in their last three matches at Home Park, including their shock 1-0 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.
They beat Millwall 5-1 in their last outing on home soil and could get the better of a Cardiff side who have not travelled well this season.
The Bluebirds have only won once on their travels in 16 league games and were beaten 7-0 at Elland Road recently.
With both teams scrapping it out to retain their second tier status, this may not be a classic, but Plymouth should have it in them to make it four home wins on the bounce.
