Peterborough may have extended their poor and unwanted away record but they earned an impressive point in a 1-1 draw at Stevenage.

Posh had lost 10 of their last 11 games away from London Road, and not won in 12, but they rescued a point thanks to Cian Hayes’ goal.

The substitute had only been on the pitch for a matter of minutes when he rifled an effort high over the shoulder of Boro keeper Murphy Cooper in the 67th minute.

It had all come around after a poor pass by Jordan Roberts had presented them with the ball in the home half.

It also cancelled out Dan Kemp’s ninth League One goal, curled into the corner after 55 minutes.

It was not a great game and the first half had very little to note. Brandon Hanlan had put the ball in the net but that was ruled out for offside.

The on-loan Wycombe striker then had a great chance in the opening minutes of the second half.

He tried to open his body to shoot with his right but put it straight at keeper Jed Steer who blocked with relative ease.
