Paris Saint-Germain vs Inter Miami predictions: Champions League winners should ease through

&w=707&quality=100)
- Paris Saint-Germain have steadied the ship after a shock defeat to Botafogo
- Inter Miami have already upset European opposition by beating Porto 2-1
- Recommended bet: PSG to win to nil
Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League in such convincing style that they have been fancied to add the Club World Cup title to their collection, and they have bounced back from a 1-0 defeat to Brazilian side Botafogo to win Group B.
While they have never played last-16 opponents Inter Miami before, the MLS side will have the familiar face of Lionel Messi leading the way and the Herons have already beaten Porto on their way to qualifying for the knockout stages.
Team news
PSG striker Ousmane Dembele has yet to feature in the tournament after suffering a hamstring problem, while fellow forward Bradley Barcola looks to have shaken off the knee issue that caused him to miss the 4-0 opening victory over Atletico Madrid.
Inter Miami’s regular goalkeeper Drake Callender is out with a hernia problem, but full-back Jordi Alba will hope to start after a hamstring injury.
Gonzalo Lujan, David Ruiz and Yannick Bright are unlikely to feature.
The stats
&w=707&quality=100)
Paris Saint-Germain have won seven of their last eight matches.
The Champions League winners have conceded just one goal in their last five games.
All but one of Inter Miami’s last 12 matches have featured at least three goals.
PSG have scored the first goal in four of their last five games.
Inter Miami have kept just one clean sheet in their last 13 outings.
Prediction
Paris Saint-Germain’s defeat to Botafogo was one of the biggest surprises of the Club World Cup group stages, but the Champions League winners have got back on their feet with a 2-0 win over Seattle Sounders and they should have few problems taking another MLS scalp when they face Inter Miami in Atlanta.
Luis Enrique’s side have been without star striker Ousmane Dembele in the tournament so far, but they were still able to beat Atletico Madrid 4-0 while Miami have a tough task trying to get through a PSG defence that has kept four clean sheets in the last five outings.
The Americans have a star-studded forward line with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez spearheading the attack, but they failed to find the net against Egyptian side Al Ahly, so it is difficult to see them get past a team who won Europe’s top club prize in such style by beating Inter Milan 5-0.
Igor Jesus’s goal for Botafogo has been the only one PSG have conceded in their last five matches and there looks a strong chance they will be able to come through this one inside 90 minutes with their clean sheet intact.
