Paris Saint-Germain hold a 3-0 lead going into their Champions League knockout phase play-off second leg against Brest but do not expect the hosts to let up when they clash on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes.

The Parisians produced a dominant performance from start to finish in the first leg at the Stade Municipal de Roudourou to take a commanding lead back to the capital.

A penalty from Vitinha in the 21st minute got PSG up and running, before a brace from the in-form Ousmane Dembele secured the victory for the Ligue 1 frontrunners.

Brest will have been delighted to reach this stage of the Champions League in their first-ever campaign in Europe’s elite competition but it looks like the journey will come to an abrupt end at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

Team news

PSG have been fortunate on the injury front, with midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery the only confirmed absentee ahead of Wednesday's game due to an ankle issue.

As for Brest, Ibrahim Salah looks set to miss out on the trip to Paris after being forced off in the weekend draw with Auxerre, while the likes of Jonas Martin, Romain Del Castillo and Jordan Amavi are all doubts for the second leg.

The stats

This game has not been short of goals, with no less than 30 being scored between these sides across their last seven meetings in all competitions.

Brest are yet to taste victory against PSG in their history, suffering 19 defeats and earning two draws across their 21 previous encounters.

PSG are unbeaten in their last 18 games in all competitions, with their last defeat coming against Bayern Munich in the Champions League back on November 26th.

Prediction

Given the record between these sides and how the first leg went at the Stade Municipal de Roudourou, it is hard to look past PSG winning on Wednesday night to secure their place in the Champions League’s last 16.

However, Brest have nothing to lose and they will throw all they have at PSG to try and get themselves back into the contest.

PSG to win and both teams to score would have landed in both of the last two meetings between these sides at the Parc des Princes and there is value to be had in siding with that to occur again.
