Omari Patrick equalised in the 11th minute of stoppage time as Tranmere fought back from 3-0 down to rescue a point in a 3-3 draw at relegation rivals Accrington.
Stanley, who sit in 22nd place, scored three goals in the first half but Patrick bagged a double after the break either side of Kristian Dennis’ strike to help secure a valuable point for Rovers, who are one position and one point above their rivals.
Stanley had a dream start as, with just 43 seconds gone, the ball fell to Ben Woods on the edge of the area and he blasted home.
The Reds were dominating and got the second on 24 minutes when a Josh Woods cross was headed home by Tyler Walton.
Number three came on 42 minutes when Stanley broke and Donald Love found Josh Woods in the area and he stroked the ball into the empty net.
Tranmere were livelier after the break with Patrick scoring a 30-yard free kick on 78 minutes to begin the comeback.
Dennis then made space and rifled a strike into the top of the net for another wonder goal with three minutes remaining.
Rovers pressed in the 11 minutes of added time and, in the last minute, Patrick got the ball on the edge of the box and scored a stunning equaliser.
