Newcastle United vs Everton predictions: Tough Toffees to make Toon work for win

&w=707&quality=100)
- Newcastle have won six in a row at home in the league
- Everton will finish 13th after beating Southampton 2-0
- Recommended bet: Tie/Newcastle United Half Time/Full Time result
A home win will guarantee Newcastle a place in the 2025/26 Champions League and Eddie Howe will be hoping that mid-table Everton are off the pace with nothing tangible to play for as they head for St James’ Park on the final day of the season.
Team news
Eddie Howe has not ruled out either Kieran Trippier or 23-goal Alexander Isak being fit after injuries.
If Isak does not make it Callum Wilson will lead the line for almost certainly the last time with a summer departure anticipated. Joelinton will not be available because of a knee injury.
Abdoulaye Doucoure and Ashley Young are set to make their Everton farewells, ex-England star Young likely to start in place of the injured Seamus Coleman. The Toffees are also without James Tarkowski and Jesper Lindstrom.
The stats
Newcastle have won their last six home matches in the Premier League, scoring at least two goals in each.
They have not failed to score at St James' Park since a 2-0 defeat by West Ham in November.
Howe's men have scored 40 goals at home in the league this season, just one fewer than Everton have managed combined at home and away.
The Magpies have won their final league game in eight of the past 10 seasons, losing only once. Everton, on the other hand, have won just one of their last eight end-of-season fixtures.
Since Everton won their first Premier League game under David Moyes this season in January, only four teams have picked up more points than them (28).
Everton's Iliman Ndiaye has scored six goals in his last 10 Premier League starts.

Prediction
Everton might have nothing to play for in terms of league placing - they will finish 13th whatever happens on Sunday - but they could present awkward opponents for Newcastle.
The Toon may have to win to stamp their ticket into next season's Champions League and they may, therefore, have to be patient.
Only four clubs have amassed more points than Everton since David Moyes took over in January and the Scot has insisted all week that his side are not going up to Tyneside to play the role of obedient fall guys.
They have won two in a row and a third straight win would represent a massive boost as they prepare for life at their new stadium.
They have conceded fewer goals this season than Newcastle and have been level at half-time in a division-high 18 matches.
Newcastle are blessed with one of the league's hottest strikers in Alexander Isak but he may not be fully fit or even take part.
Howe is blessed with other star forwards - Everton old boy Anthony Gordon amongst them - but this could easily turn into a tough afternoon for the Geordies, who should win but may have to work hard for the three points.
