Matty Taylor scored twice before fellow substitute Ashley Hay hit the winner as Cheltenham recovered from 2-0 down to beat Barrow 3-2 in League Two.

Veteran Taylor went on in the 51st minute, with the Robins reeling after Ben Whitfield had added to Sam Foley’s first-half goal for the visitors.

Taylor reduced the arrears after an hour and then levelled 10 minutes later to register his first brace for the club.

Hay then netted in the winner in the 76th minute after a fine cross from Ethan Williams.

Barrow had opened the scoring when former Cheltenham man Foley headed in Ben Jackson’s free-kick after 32 minutes.

Whitfield made it 2-0 straight after half-time following an error from Scot Bennett.

Taylor sparked the fightback after seeing his initial header from Val Adedokun’s cross parried by Paul Farman, making no mistake with his second attempt.

The equaliser came from a long clearance by goalkeeper Joe Day which was controlled by Taylor, who then beat his man and fired low past Farman.

And Brentford loanee Hay completed the turnaround with his first goal in senior football.
