Managerless Wigan produced some gritty defending to draw 0-0 at fellow strugglers Mansfield in League One.
The Stags dominated but were unable to stop their winless run reaching 12 games in all competitions.
Both sides now sit seven points clear of the relegation zone.
Latics defender Jason Kerr might have done better as he shot wide from a scramble after a sixth-minute corner.
But after that it was largely one-way traffic and visiting goalkeeper Sam Tickle saved superbly from an Aaron Lewis volley in the 20th minute from a half-cleared corner.
Tickle had easier saves to keep out Keanu Baccus and livewire Caylan Vickers while Stephen McLaughlin rocketed a 38th-minute opening into the side netting.
Mansfield continued to boss things after the break but Wigan stood firm and almost sneaked a goal against the run of play with 19 minutes left when Ronan Darcy rolled a finish wide after Elliott Hewitt had failed to head a cross clear.
A huge scramble in the Wigan box in the 76th minute saw Will Aimson block a Stephen Quinn cross off the line, while with the last kick of the game Stags substitute Ben Waine cleared the Latics’ crossbar by inches.
