Louie Barry scored twice as Stockport eased to a 3-0 victory over League One strugglers Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.

The forward took his league goal tally to 13 for the season after also playing a huge part in County’s opener too.

Stockport bossed long periods of the game with Ryan Rydel and Barry going close in the early stages before the Aston Villa loanee provided the assist for the opener on the half-hour mark.

Leading a swift counter-attack from a Burton corner, Barry darted into the Albion box where he was stopped by Jack Armer’s challenge only for the ball to fall to skipper Lewis Bate to apply the finishing touch.

County’s second was well worked from back to front. Goalkeeper Ben Hinchliffe picked out Kyle Wootton and the striker’s flick-on found Barry’s run and the 21-year-old unerringly found the bottom corner.

Barry continued the second half where he left off with a superbly taken curling effort just before the hour, a goal entirely of his own making after cutting in from the left to finish with aplomb.

Burton rarely threatened and dropped to the bottom of the table after a humbling defeat.
