Arne Slot is enjoying a fantastic debut season at Liverpool

- Liverpool have lost just once this season and are four points clear at the summit
- Fulham are 10th in the table after suffering just one defeat in their last seven league games
- Recommended bet:
Liverpool to win 2-0

Liverpool’s transition to life under new manager Arne Slot could hardly have been more comfortable and this is looking like a big season for the Reds as they sit at the top of the Premier League and have posted victories in all six of their Champions League matches.

However, Fulham showed they can go toe-to-toe with the top flight’s leading lights when they earned a 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Sunday and are unlikely to be steamrolled at Anfield.

Team news

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota is back in training and could be involved. Alexis Mac Allister serves a one-game suspension and the game will probably come too early for Federico Chiesa, Ibrahima Konate, Konstantinos Tsimikas and Conor Bradley.

Reiss Nelson is out with a thigh problem for Fulham while Calvin Bassey and Tom Cairney are suspended. Joachim Andersen is nearing a return but Harrison Reed is out.

Liverpool have won 16 of their last 18 matches.

Slot’s side have won five of their last seven matches at Anfield without conceding.

The Reds have scored at least twice in 10 of their last 11 home games.

Fulham have found the net in 13 of their last 15 Premier League away outings.

Just two of the Cottagers’ last 10 away league games have featured more than two goals.

Prediction

Liverpool have been ruthlessly efficient under Slot, but the Dutchman was not happy with their performance against Girona in the Champions League on Tuesday and that could be bad news for Fulham, who visit Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds are an all-round solid outfit and four successive clean sheets on their own patch should stand them in good stead for Fulham’s visit, particularly when you consider those shutouts came against Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Aston Villa and the team they are attempting to topple as Premier League champions, Manchester City.

Victory in the final three of those matches were by a 2-0 scoreline and the pattern could continue as the Cottagers have generally been tight on the road.

Eight of their last 10 away league matches have featured fewer than three goals and their only defeat in their last six on the road was a 3-2 loss at City.

Liverpool needed two late goals to win a 4-3 thriller when these teams met on Merseyside last December, but the league leaders look unlikely to be that generous in defence when they entertain the Londoners on Saturday.
