Lincoln hammer poor Peterborough
Lincoln fired themselves into play-off contention as they put poor Peterborough to the sword with a 5-1 drubbing.
The Imps had scored just once in 468 minutes of league football before putting five past sorry Posh.
Dom Jefferies, Tom Bayliss, Freddie Draper — from the spot — Cian Hayes’ own goal and James Collins’ debut goal did the damage for Michael Skubala’s side as they closed the gap with the top six to four points.
Jefferies slotted home the opener after Bayliss’ troublesome free-kick eventually fell into his path in the 12th minute.
It was two just after the half-hour mark when Bayliss curled home a stunning free-kick just moments after firing a strike wide.
Draper made no mistake from the spot as he sent Nicholas Bilokapic the wrong way.
Ricky-Jade Jones cut the deficit with a tidy finish on the hour mark before Ethan Hamilton’s strike, his first touch of the game, took a deflection off Hayes.
Substitute Collins added gloss with seven minutes to go as he dinked home his finish after being played in by Jovon Makama.
