Hansi Flick is on the verge of leading Barcelona to the Spanish title

- Barcelona moved seven points clear at top after 4-3 win over rivals Real Madrid
- Athletic Bilbao, Villarreal and Real Betis among clubs battling for top-five finish
- In relegation fight, just six points separate 15th-placed Girona and Las Palmas in 19th

With just three rounds of fixtures left, Barcelona can secure the league title in Spain with victory against neighbours Espanyol on Thursday, or they could be crowned champions if Real Madrid lose to Mallorca on Wednesday.

Going into the midweek fixtures, which are spread out across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Barca are on the brink of the title after their 4-3 El Clasico victory on Sunday, while the battle for a top-five finish to seal Champions League football goes on, as does the scrap to avoid relegation at the bottom.

Real Valladolid vs Girona (Tuesday, 6pm)

Real Valladolid have had a dismal season and have already been confirmed as relegated while finishing bottom, so Girona, who are just four points clear of the drop zone, must surely pick up a vital win in their bid to stay up.

Score prediction: Real Valladolid 0-1 Girona

Real Sociedad vs Celta Vigo (Tuesday, 7pm)

Real Sociedad's hopes of finishing in the top eight and qualifying for Europe took a significant hit with a 4-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid on Saturday, extending their winless streak to five games in the process.

The hosts are 12th, four points off eighth, so they still have a chance of landing a Conference League spot, but a defeat against Celta Vigo, who themselves are aiming to hold on to seventh and a Europa League place, would be another unwelcome setback at this late stage.

Score prediction: Real Sociedad 1-2 Celta Vigo

Sevilla vs Las Palmas (Tuesday, 8.30pm)

Two sides in the thick of the relegation scrap meet at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan when Sevilla, who are four points clear of trouble in 16th, host second-bottom Las Palmas, who are three points off safety.

Both teams clearly need a win and this could go either way, but a third home draw in a row for Sevilla to keep them on course for survival may well play out.

Score prediction: Sevilla 1-1 Las Palmas

Alaves vs Valencia (Wednesday, 6pm)

Alaves are another side desperate for points to stay up as they sit just the right side of the relegation zone, a point ahead of 18th-placed Leganes.

A narrow home win would end Valencia's fine unbeaten 10-game run and also dent their hopes of finishing as high as seventh.

Score prediction: Alaves 1-0 Valencia

Villarreal vs Leganes (Wednesday, 6pm)

Villarreal can maintain their recent impressive form with a fourth straight win to stay in the top five.

Leganes, meanwhile, edged to an important 3-2 home victory over Espanyol on Sunday but they are still in the relegation zone and their problems could increase with defeat on the road in midweek.

Score prediction: Villarreal 2-0 Leganes

Real Madrid vs Mallorca (Wednesday, 8.30pm)

Real Madrid threw away a 2-0 lead when losing 4-3 at title rivals Barcelona on Sunday and if they slip-up at home to Mallorca on Wednesday, the title will be decided in Barca's favour.

However, Los Blancos should bounce back with a comfortable home victory over Mallorca, who have only won one of their last four games.

Score prediction: Real Madrid 3-1 Mallorca

Osasuna vs Atletico Madrid (Thursday, 6pm)

Atletico Madrid can solidify their place in third with victory at mid-table Osasuna.

Score prediction: Osasuna 1-2 Atletico Madrid

Rayo Vallecano vs Real Betis (Thursday, 6pm)

Eighth hosts sixth in what could be a pivotal clash between Vallecano and Betis in the fight for European places.

The visitors are hoping to catch Villarreal in fifth in the final weeks of the season and they can boost their hopes of earning a Champions League place with a narrow victory at Estadio de Vallecas.

Score prediction: Rayo Vallecano 0-1 Real Betis

Espanyol vs Barcelona (Thursday, 8.30pm)

Barcelona will be hoping Real Madrid suffer defeat at home to Mallorca on Wednesday to hand them the title but if, as expected, Real win, they can wrap it up themselves with three points at local rivals Espanyol.

Score prediction: Espanyol 1-4 Barcelona

Getafe vs Athletic Bilbao (Thursday, 8.30pm)

Getafe are now just five points clear of the bottom three after a dreadful run of five straight defeats and they are likely to suffer a sixth when they host Athletic Club, who are fourth and are closing in on confirming their top-five place.

Score prediction: Getafe 0-2 Athletic Bilbao.
