Arsenal are on the brink of another Conti Cup final but a stubborn Aston Villa side stand in their way.

The Gunners won their sixth League Cup last season, beating Women's Super League champions Chelsea 3-1 at Selhurst Park in front of 19,000 fans.

Head coach Jonas Eidevall has his sights set on back-to-back triumphs in the competition but insists his side must not underestimate Carla Ward's Villa in the semi-finals.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's showdown, he said: "They have a lot to play for being in the semi-finals, just as we do, I think you have seen a Villa side that has been progressing and developing.

"We need to be on our very best behaviour and performance in order to get the result we want.

"We're still in two competitions and we would like to do our very, very best to win both of them.

"This is a really important game for doing that tomorrow. We're going to do our very, very best to try to go to another final."

Arsenal have been competing at the top of the WSL this season and currently sit third — three points off Manchester City and Chelsea.

They remain England's most successful club in women's football. But despite this, Eidevall says his players are more determined than ever to win silverware.

He added: "That's the thing with winning, you're always hungry for more of it.

"It's not like you think that you're done just because you won one trophy, the harder part in football and in life is to be on a high level for a long time.

"We want to find new ways to elevate and to develop and that's where you can find some real pleasure in doing and we now have that opportunity to defend a trophy and to win something back-to-back.

"For me that's even more special than doing just one thing once, so let's really try to savour that moment and make the most out of it."
