James Maddison and Heung-Min Son were too good for Fulham

James Maddison hailed Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou's aggressive mindset after starring in a 2-0 rout of Fulham.

Spurs talisman Heung-Min Son opened the scoring after 36 minutes with a brilliant curling effort having been found by Maddison.

And the roles were reversed after the break as the South Korean turned provider for his team-mate, who slotted home from close range.

Maddison, 26, said: "All my goal contributions have been away so it's nice to get off the mark here.

"It maybe felt a little disjointed, Fulham didn't really press so our centre-backs could walk up the pitch with the ball. I dropped deeper and we got more success that way.

"The gaffer's fine with that as long as there's structure to it.

"His teams have always been a front-foot pressing team, it's non-negotiable. It's on my mind and the team's, no matter what the scoreline is.

"It's how I nearly got another goal at the end... if Sonny doesn't get in the way."

Tottenham's win took them two points clear at the top of the table, while Fulham sit in 13th place.

The Cottagers showed some signs of life late on but Guglielmo Vicario denied Raul Jimenez to maintain his clean sheet.

Fulham skipper Tim Ream admitted: "I thought in some moments we did some good things, got into their box quite a few times.

"At the end of the day, the goals we give away are identical. Players at this level will punish you if you give the ball away in those areas.

"In the first half we sat off them a little bit too much. In the second, we ramped the pressure up a bit but in the end, we came away with nothing."
