Inverness moved to within four points of safety with a comprehensive 3-0 Scottish League One victory at Annan.

Alfie Bavidge broke the deadlock for the visitors just before the break as he headed in Luis Longstaff’s cross from close range for a narrow half-time advantage.

Teenager Keith Bray glanced home Paul Allan’s corner four minutes into the second half to double Caley’s lead and Billy Mckay scored a penalty to add some late gloss.

League Two leaders East Fife recorded a 2-0 victory at Stranraer to extended their winning streak to five matches thanks to two first-half goals.

Just 15 minutes in, Jack Healy picked out the top-right corner after some good work from Jess Norey, while Allan Trouten doubled their lead 10 minutes later with his 20th goal of the season in all competitions to leave Stranraer second-bottom.

In Saturday’s other fourth-tier clash, second-placed Peterhead edged a narrow 3-2 win at home to Stirling to keep pressure on the leaders.

Max Barry opened the scoring for the home side early on as he slotted into the bottom corner before Adam Brown equalised midway through the second half, collecting James Graham’s pass and firing home from a tight angle.

But Kieran Shanks’ close-range effort three minutes later restored Peterhead’s lead as he celebrated a fifth goal from his last seven league games, while Callum Crane’s 18-yard leveller cancelled out any advantage just after the break.

Shanks celebrated his brace as the hosts went ahead for the third time with 15 minutes remaining.
