Inter Milan vs Lazio predictions: Baroni's boys to avoid San Siro defeat

&w=707&quality=100)
- Inter won 2-0 at Torino to move a point behind leaders Napoli
- Lazio's 1-1 draw at Juventus keeps them in the top-four race
- Recommended bet: Draw or Lazio Double Chance
Champions League finalists Inter Milan are back in the race for the Serie A title after Napoli dropped points last week, but Sunday's opponents Lazio have also got plenty to play for in what should be a thriller.
Team news
Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is being nursed back to full fitness so is unlikely to be involved. Benjamin Pavard, Davide Frattesi and Henrik Mkhitaryan are fit again though Inzaghi may put all three on the bench.
Inzaghi made sweeping changes at Torino and was rewarded with a 2-0 win, so it remains to be seen whether he recalls the likes of keeper Yann Sommer, midfield star Hakan Calhanoglu and top scorer Marcus Thuram.
Left-sided wingback Nuno Tavares looks like he is fit and could make his first start for Lazio in six weeks.
Pedro or Boulaye Dia can expect a start after Gustav Isaksen pulled a muscle in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Juventus and is ruled out.
The stats
Inter Milan have won only one of their last five home fixtures in all competitions.
Inter have beaten Lazio twice this season, 6-0 away in the league in December and 2-0 at home in the Coppa Italia in February and they are unbeaten against the Romans in six meetings.
The Nerazzurri are one of two sides – Como are the other – not to have been involved in a 0-0 draw in Serie A this term.
Lazio have won 11 away games this season – only Atalanta have won more times on the road.
Prediction
Inter have twice beaten Lazio this season, but are blowing hot and cold at the moment and that has to offer Marco Baroni's men hope of getting something from their trip to the San Siro.
The Nerazzurri won 6-0 at Lazio in the league before Christmas and also beat Baroni's side 2-0 in the Coppa.
However, Lazio have won their last three away games and have stormed right into the mix for a top-four spot and a place in next year's Champions League.
Meanwhile it is this year's Champions League which is weighing heavily on the mind of Inter boss Inzaghi as he juggles his squad between Serie A duties and their European final showdown with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the month.
Inzaghi had given up on the Scudetto before leaders Napoli dropped points in a 2-2 draw with Genoa last weekend, which means he will be tempted to send out a far stronger team than he did at Torino a week ago.
He got away with that one – they won 2-0 – but in-form Lazio are going to represent a far sterner test.
Inter's home form has deserted them of late and ace travellers Lazio are more than capable of avoiding defeat in Milan.
