- Hull have won only two of their opening 16 home league games
- Borja Sainz has 15 goals in 27 Championship appearances this season
- Recommended bet: Borja Sainz anytime goalscorer

Hull's inconsistencies are why they find themselves in the Championship’s relegation zone and after back-to-back defeats to Stoke and Burnley, the Tigers will be looking for a response at home to Norwich.

Ruben Selles' side had recorded a shock 3-0 win at promotion-chasing Sheffield United prior to that, which goes some way to highlighting their unpredictability.

However, Hull have the worst home record in the Championship, with only 12 points amassed from their 16 matches at the MKM Stadium, in Norwich they meet a side that will still have play-off ambitions.

The Canaries currently sit 11th in the Championship standings but they are only four points outside the top six and are still capable of making their presence felt despite Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Preston.

Team news

Hull remain without Mohamed Belloumi, Lincoln, Liam Millar, Kasey Palmer, Dougan Sinik, Charlie Hughes and Oscar Zambrano.

For Norwich, their injury problems are starting to ease but Amankwah Forson, Gabriel Forsyth, Onel Hernandez and Liam Gibbs are still sidelined.

Leading scorer Borja Sainz returned from suspension in the 1-0 loss at home to Preston and that should soon help improve their recent goalscoring woes.

The stats

Hull have won only two of their opening 16 home league games, suffering eight defeats.

Six of Hull's 16 Championship defeats this season have been by a 1-0 scoreline.

Five of Hull's last six Championship home games have ended with both sides scoring.

Norwich have lost eight of their 16 Championship away games, which includes three of their last five road trips.

Seven of Norwich's last nine league games have gone under 2.5 goals.

Norwich forward Borja Sainz is the Championship's leading scorer with 15 goals in 27 appearances.

Prediction

With Hull in relegation danger and having had a horrible run of results at home and Norwich struggling to put their best foot forward on the road, this is a tricky Championship fixture to weigh up.

However, Norwich will be delighted to have top scorer Sainz back from his six-game suspension and, while he failed to get on the scoresheet in his first match back in a 1-0 loss to Preston in midweek, that appearance should have blown away some cobwebs.

Sainz was in sparkling form at the start of the season and his 15-goal haul makes him the most potent forward in the Championship.

With the Spaniard likely to be back starting, Norwich should find it easier to create chances and score goals and he may be able to make his presence felt at Hull.

Sainz was on target in a 4-0 win for Norwich over the Tigers in October and he could repeat the trick with the hosts having kept only one home clean sheet this season.
