Jamie Cooke’s brilliant second-half volley sealed Halifax a 2-0 home win against the National League’s bottom club Ebbsfleet.
Midfielder Cooke fired a 30-yard volley into the top corner after Leeds loanee Luca Thomas’s first goal for the Shaymen had given them a half-time lead.
Thomas, making his second appearance for the home side after arriving last month, produced a clinical low finish, in off the far post, to give Halifax an early lead.
Ebssfleet, whose winless league run was extended to 21 matches, saw George Moncur’s first-half corner scrambled off the goalline before Cooke lashed home one of the goals of the season in the 69th minute.
