- Girona sit just a place above La Liga's relegation zone
- Despite a dip in form, Mallorca can still qualify for Europe
- Recommended bet: Draw
Round 34 of La Liga will reach a conclusion on Monday night as relegation-threatened Girona welcome European hopefuls Mallorca to the Estadi Montilivi.
After finishing third last season and qualifying for the Champions League, Girona have struggled for much of this term and will head into this clash out of form and sitting just a place above the relegation zone.
Mallorca have no such concerns and are in the running to secure European qualification for the first time since the 2003-04 season, although their own form has stuttered over recent weeks.
Team news
Forward Abel Ruiz is Girona's only confirmed absentee due to an ongoing hamstring issue, with Ricard Artero and Bryan Gil both expected to be fit enough to take places on the bench.
Mallorca remain without the services of Manu Morlanes and Vedat Muriqi (both hamstring), while Robert Navarro (hamstring) and Abdon Prats (calf) are also expected to miss this trip to Catalonia.
There is better news regarding forward Takuma Asano, who could return from his recent hamstring issue, while Dani Rodriguez and Pablo Maffeo are both available again following suspensions.

The stats
Girona are without a win in any of their last 11 La Liga matches, accumulating just four points over that period.
Michel's side have registered nine league wins this season, six of which have come on home soil at the Estadi Montilivi.
The Catalonians have not beaten a side from the top half of the table since claiming a 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao in early October.
Mallorca have only won one of their last five matches, but they have claimed as many league victories on their travels this season as they have on their own patch (both six).
The Pirates have won each of their last three meetings with Girona, although those all came on home soil, with their previous visit to the Estadi Montilivi in September 2023 ending in a 5-3 defeat.
Prediction
There was perhaps always going to be a drop-off from Girona following last season's third-place finish, but they still would not have expected to be in a relegation battle at this late stage of the campaign.
They were able to end a four-match losing run with their draw at fellow strugglers Leganes last time out, but it is now 11 league games without a win for Michel and his team.
The good news for Girona is Mallorca are also struggling for wins, picking up just three across their 14 league matches this calendar year, a sequence that has dented but not ended their hopes of securing European football for next season.
With both sides out of form and, certainly in the case of Girona, lacking in confidence, this could be a nervy contest where both teams end up seeing a point as a decent result.
