Liverpool have ticked off another major hurdle in their pursuit of the Premier League title courtesy of their hard-earned 1-0 midweek win over Everton.

However, the challenges come thick and fast and next up for Arne Slot's pacesetters is a trip to Craven Cottage to take on a Fulham side with eyes on a European place.

Team news

Fulham were without Kenny Tete, Harry Wilson and Reiss Nelson at Arsenal on Tuesday and the three of them remain sidelined.

Curtis Jones played at right-back in Wednesday's Merseyside derby and will almost certainly keep his place while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez recover from injuries. Conor Bradley is closer to a return.

Keeper Alisson is set to miss out due to concussion protocols following an injury with Brazil during the international break and if he remains absent Caoimhin Kelleher will retain his place.

The stats

Fulham have won just one of their last 13 Premier League matches against Liverpool.

The Cottagers have picked up one point out of a possible 33 from their last 11 games against sides who were top of the table at the time.

Liverpool, unbeaten away in the Premier League since last April, have scored 38 goals in 15 league away games this season, an average of 2.5 per game.

Mo Salah has had a direct hand in each of the last eight goals the Reds have scored on the road, five goals and three assists.

Prediction

Having headed into the international break with back-to-back cup reverses at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle, Arne Slot's men needed to steady the ship on their return.

While Wednesday night's 1-0 win over Everton was far from pretty, it was hugely significant, keeping Arsenal and the rest at arm's length in the title race and giving the Liverpool dressing room a lift heading down to the capital to take on Fulham.

This is a fixture that has served Liverpool well over the years, but it is still a potential pitfall, largely down to the fact that Marco Silva has taken Fulham to heights the club had never previously enjoyed.

The Cottagers are now a dangerous proposition as Arsenal discovered at the Emirates on Tuesday night when Silva's men battled back to lose courageously 2-1.

They have twice beaten third-placed Nottingham Forest this season, beaten Chelsea and Newcastle, taken a point off Arsenal and drew 2-2 at Anfield in December.

They have gone into this weekend in ninth place in the table and are playing too well to be seen as whipping boys, especially with Liverpool having stuttered of late.
