Fulham will seek to do a Premier League double over Crystal Palace when they host the Eagles in a London derby at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Marco Silva’s side earned a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture last year and come into this clash in good form following back-to-back 2-1 league wins over top-six rivals Newcastle and Nottingham Forest.

The Cottagers have to keep winning if they are to enhance their own European qualification prospects but it will not be easy against one of the toughest away teams in the top flight.

Palace have won five of their last six away league games with Oliver Glasner’s side keeping more clean sheets on the road than anyone else apart from Liverpool.

Team news

Fulham may be forced into a change in midfield if Sasa Lukic cannot overcome the injury he sustained in the closing stages against Forest.

Harrison Reed stands by to take his place in what could otherwise be an unchanged team with Emile Smith Rowe in the number 10 position.

Kenny Tete, Harry Wilson and Reiss Nelson were the only absentees last week with the on-loan Arsenal winger subsequently revealing that he underwent surgery on a hamstring injury that was originally set to sideline him for three months.

As for Palace, Glasner could recall Eberechi Eze to the line-up and include Adam Wharton in the starting XI for the first time since he underwent surgery to cure a persistent groin problem in November.

Jefferson Lerma and Justin Devenny could drop to the bench with Daichi Kamada, who has started Palace’s last two Premier League away games, also a candidate to return to the side.

The stats

No team has secured more 2-1 wins in the Premier League this season than Fulham (five), who have also won each of their last three league and cup games by that scoreline.

Marco Silva’s men have scored exactly two goals in eight of their last 10 league games.

Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson is one of only four outfield players across the Premier League to have played every minute of every match for their club so far in 2024-25.

Crystal Palace have scored in seven consecutive league games and won four of those, representing their most successful run of the campaign.

The Eagles have kept four away clean sheets in a row and won five of their last six Premier League road matches.

Prediction

Much will depend on which team scores the first goal at Craven Cottage, but Fulham’s recent record suggests they are encountering a few problems in getting on the scoresheet before half-time.

Smith Rowe’s effort against Forest last weekend was the first time they had registered before the break in their last six Premier League games.

Silva’s side will need to be sharp to breach a Palace backline that has been among the best in the division in 2025.

The Eagles have conceded only once in their last six away league trips and that was merely an 87th-minute consolation for Brighton via a Marc Guehi own goal.

Guehi, Chris Richards and Maxence Lacroix have formed a watertight rearguard away from home where they can sit a little deeper to stop balls from being played behind by opposition midfielders.

If they continue to play as well in this game then Fulham will have to remain patient for a breakthrough again.
