Julian Schuster is eyeing Champions League qualification for Freiburg

- Freiburg are fourth but if they fail to win, could be overtaken by Borussia Dortmund
- Frankfurt are just above and need a draw to secure Champions League spot
- Recommended bet:
Freiburg to win

The biggest game on the Bundesliga’s final day comes from the Europa-Park Stadion, where fourth-placed Freiburg host the side directly above them, Eintracht Frankfurt, and there is plenty to play for.

Frankfurt need just a point to secure their place in the Champions League but a loss could open the door for both Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund to leapfrog them.

The hosts, meanwhile, cannot afford to draw, with fifth-placed Dortmund breathing down their necks and facing already-relegated Holstein Kiel, and their desire to win could see them come out on top on Saturday.

Team news

Freiburg have got some key men back at just the right time, with first-choice goalkeeper Noah Atubolu available after a shoulder injury and Junior Atamu returning from suspension.

However, Bruno Ogbus has joined Daniel-Kofi Kyereh on the sidelines and Eren Dinkci is a doubt.

Frankfurt have their own goalkeeper back, too, with Kevin Trapp fit again following a shin injury but they will be without injured duo Kaua Santos and Mario Gotze.

The stats

Freiburg have won four of their last five matches.

Their only dropped points in that run came in a 2-2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen.

Frankfurt’s only win in seven away games came against basement boys Bochum.

Freiburg have lost just two of their last 14 matches.

Frankfurt have failed to score on three of their last five away days.

Both teams scored in seven of Freiburg’s last eight matches.

Prediction

Assuming Dortmund avoid a slip-up of massive proportions when they face already-relegated Holstein Kiel, the pressure will be on Freiburg to also pick up all three points as a win for the hosts against Frankfurt would see them safely home in fourth place.

Freiburg have ended the season with a real rattle, winning four of their last five matches and only dropping points to Bayer Leverkusen in that run, and they will be feeling confident given Frankfurt’s recent travel sickness.

Eintracht’s only win in seven away games came at basement boys Bochum and, in actuality, they have been poor ever since losing their star man, Omar Marmoush, to Manchester City in January.

The Egyptian’s final game came in a 4-1 rout of, ironically, Freiburg, but Frankfurt have won just six of their subsequent 16 Bundesliga games.

They are simply not the same side without Marmoush and they are unlikely to complete the double against Freiburg, who can secure the Champions League spot they deserve on Saturday with a victory.
