Yuki Tsunoda is starting to show some decent form in the second Red Bull

The F1 circus heads to the Hungaroring this week for the Hungarian Grand Prix and Phil Agius expects Yuki Tsunoda to enjoy a measure of success in the second Red Bull.

Oscar Piastri extended his world championship lead to 16 points with his victory in the rain-affected Belgian Grand Prix last weekend, but there is again nothing between the Australian and his team-mate Lando Norris in the betting for this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.

The pair have filled the first two places in three successive races, with Norris winning in Austria and Great Britain, before Piastri triumphed for the first time in four rounds at Spa.

There's little to be gleaned from their performances in last year's race as they were separated by only 0.022 seconds in qualifying and, while Piastri won the race, it was only after the team ordered Norris to allow him to pass, which he eventually agreed to after a long radio debate.

That was Piastri's first career victory and he has taken his performances to a new level this year with six wins, but Norris often looks to just have the edge on overall pace between the two while being more prone to costly errors. The best bets on Sunday's race may lie away from the closely matched title-chasing pair, though.

The stats

Oscar Piastri has won six of the 13 races this season, with McLaren having won 10 races including five of the last six rounds.

McLaren have finished first and second in the last three races.

Red Bull’s four-time defending world champion Max Verstappen was victorious in last week's sprint race, but has won only one of the last 10 Grands Prix.

Lewis Hamilton has won the Hungarian Grand Prix a record eight times.

Charles Leclerc has finished on the podium in four of the last six races.

Prediction

Forgotten man Yuki Tsunoda is worthy of an interest to record a long overdue points finish for Red Bull in Hungary after a season of struggle.

While his team-mate Max Verstappen is third in the championship and won last week's sprint race, the Japanese driver is a dreadful 17th in the standings and has not finished higher than 12th in the last six races, with his last point coming at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in May.

He should have been back in the points in Belgium after qualifying a promising seventh, but paid a price for leaving his first pit-stop too late and got stuck in traffic.

With his car now closer to the specification that Verstappen is using, Tsunoda could be set for an improved run and he can at least return to the top 10 this week at a track where he was sixth in 2021 and ninth last season.

LiveScore Bet's Best of the Rest market features the 12 drivers who do not race for McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari or Mercedes and Esteban Ocon of Haas is an interesting contender this week.

The Frenchman enjoyed the best day of his career at the Hungaroring in 2021 when he won for Alpine and his Haas team have been showing signs of recent progress, finishing fifth and seventh in the sprint race at Belgium after qualifying in the same positions.

Ocon would have won this market in that event and, while he was another to suffer from a poor strategy on the Sunday, he can be hopeful of a bold showing.

Ocon's second-best result of the season came on another high-downforce track at Monaco, where he was seventh, and he should be fighting for points again this week.
