Dundee United have had a busy week, claiming a 2-2 draw at Rapid Vienna on Thursday after drawing by the same scoreline at promoted Falkirk in their first match of the new Scottish Premiership campaign last weekend.

They now face a tough clash against rampant Hearts, who built upon a strong showing in the League Cup group stage to beat Aberdeen 2-0 at Tynecastle on Monday.

Team news

United’s Ross Graham is still recovering from a hamstring injury and looks unlikely to feature, while Isaac Pappoe will be assessed following his early exit from Thursday's Conference League clash in Vienna.

Meanwhile, Beni Baningime and Calem Nieuwenhof are still expected to be sidelined for the visitors.

The stats

Hearts have won their last nine matches and have scored at least twice in eight of those nine games.

Six of Dundee United’s last nine games have featured at least three goals.

Hearts have lost on just one of their last seven visits to Tannadice.

Over 3.5 goals has been a winning bet in four of United’s last six league games.

Hearts have scored the first goal in each of their last four Scottish Premiership matches.

Prediction

Jim Goodwin’s United should be congratulated for battling their way back from behind twice to earn a 2-2 Conference League draw in midweek, but do not be surprised if those efforts take their toll when they face red-hot Hearts on Sunday.

United's result in Austria was commendable, but it came a few days after another hard-fought 2-2 draw at Falkirk and any fatigue could be exposed by the Jambos, who were excellent in collecting their ninth consecutive win with a 2-0 success over Aberdeen on Monday.

New investor Tony Bloom, who is also chairman of Brighton, has predicted big things at Tynecastle and has the Old Firm in his sights.

Their performance against the Dons, who they lost to in the Scottish Cup semi-finals last season, indicated that there is a strong chance they will be the best of the rest at least in the Scottish Premiership this term.

That win came after they scored 16 goals in four League Cup games and also posted a 3-0 friendly win over Premier League new boys Sunderland.

Lawrence Shankland was almost back amongst the goals in the win over the Dona and his side look on the verge of making early progress in the league this season.

They have lost just once in their last seven Tannadice visits and are capable of claiming three points again this weekend.
