Manchester United vs Chelsea predictions: Blues to exploit United frailty

Man Utd have won just one Premier League game this season
Chelsea suffered 3-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League
Recommended bet: Joao Pedro to score anytime
Manchester United face yet another tough opposition in the Premier League this week as Chelsea head to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are fresh off a 3-0 derby drubbing by Manchester City last weekend, but it appears as though head coach Ruben Amorim will stick with the same set-up for the time being.
The Blues lost 3-1 at Bayern Munich in their first Champions League match since 2023, but the club have enjoyed a decent start in the league.

Central defender Lisandro Martinez is still a long-term absentee for the Red Devils.
Furthermore, Matheus Cunha, Diogo Dalot and Mason Mount are all carrying injuries and will likely be assessed prior to the match.
Blues boss Enzo Maresca has several long-term injuries to contend with. Liam Delap and Levi Colwill will both be out for the next few months, while Dario Essugo is also out for the foreseeable future.
The match will also come too soon for both Romeo Lavia and Benoit Badiashile, although the pair are not expected to be out for too much longer.
The stats
The Old Trafford side have been involved in some high-scoring games this season.
As well as the 3-0 defeat last week, they won 3-2 against Burnley, while drawing 2-2 with Grimsby in the EFL Cup before losing on penalties, as they continue to ship goals regularly.
Indeed, Amorim's men have kept a solitary clean sheet this term, which came on matchday one of the Premier League season.
Only Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo have scored in the league, signifying problems at both ends of the pitch.
Chelsea, however, are unbeaten after four league matches so far. The Blues have conceded only three goals in that time, scoring nine in the process.
Summer signing Joao Pedro has been excellent and he currently leads the way in terms of goal contributions – two goals and three assists – in the top-flight this season.
The Blues have also won two and drawn one of their previous three games against United in the Premier League.

Prediction
Amorim's commitment to his 5-2-3 system may be admirable, but his stubbornness regarding change might not do him any favours in the long run.
The Red Devils have been poor this term, particularly against City and they need to get their act together swiftly.
While Chelsea may have lost to Bayern, Maresca is certainly eyeing a title charge this season.
The game against United is the first big test of their credentials, but, with the likes of Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez performing superbly, they should take home all three points.
Given the home side's woeful defensive record and the proficiency of Joao Pedro in the final third, do not be surprised to see the Brazilian score once again this week.
