Leeds vs Tottenham predictions: North Londoners can leave with a point

  • Leeds have drawn their last two home games

  • Tottenham have won just two of their last nine Premier League away fixtures

Leeds have adapted well to Premier League football and approach Saturday’s clash at home to Tottenham with the aim of climbing into the top half of the table.

Daniel Farke’s side have accumulated eight points and remain unbeaten at Elland Road after winning 1-0 at home to Everton and drawing against Newcastle (0-0) and Bournemouth (2-2).

Tottenham are three points higher and are travelling to Yorkshire on a six-game unbeaten run.

However, they needed an injury-time Joao Palhinha strike to draw 1-1 at home to Wolves last Saturday and were just as poor in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw away to Bodo/Glimt on Champions League Matchday Two.

Team news

Leeds have to run the rule over attacker Wilfried Gnonto, who missed last Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth with a calf injury. Goalkeeper Lucas Perri (thigh) is expected to be absent until after the international break.

Spurs are still having to get by without Dominic Solanke, who has undergone minor ankle surgery and will not be seen until some time after the international break.

Radu Dragusin is short of match fitness, Randal Kolo Muani (dead leg) is a doubt and Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison (both knee) and Yves Bissouma (unspecified injury) are definite absentees. Kota Takai (ankle) has been back in training.

The stats

Leeds have not lost a home league match in over a year — a 1-0 defeat to Burnley in September 2024.

The Whites have kept clean sheets in four of their last five home fixtures.

Three of Leeds’s last five league games have generated at least four goals.

Spurs have conceded the first goal in three of their last four fixtures.

Tottenham have drawn three of their last four matches.

The North Londoners have scored at least two goals in four consecutive away games.

Prediction

Leeds are establishing Elland Road as a tough venue for visiting teams and they can maintain their unbeaten home record by sharing the points with Spurs.

Farke’s side came under pressure after losing 5-0 at Arsenal in their second match of the season, but they have responded impressively.

The Yorkshire side have taken four points from their last two games and gave as good as they got in an entertaining 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth last weekend.

Tottenham should be preparing themselves for a tough game and will need to be better than they were in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw away to Bodo/Glimt.

However, Thomas Frank’s side should be stronger with Cristian Romero and Mohammed Kudus back in the starting XI and they look capable of grinding out a third successive draw.
