Bogey teams across top four divisions in England: Red Devils enjoy Blues clashes

Ruben Amorim can take some confidence from Man Utd's recent record against Chelsea.
Ruben Amorim can take some confidence from Man Utd's recent record against Chelsea.
  • Manchester United unbeaten in last 12 meetings with Chelsea

  • Liverpool have lost just one of their last 15 derby clashes with Everton

  • Southampton have won on four of their last five trips to Hull City

The action continues thick and fast this week with a full program of Premier League and EFL fixtures to come this weekend following a busy week across the continent.

All four of the top divisions in England can throw up some intriguing patterns and quirky results, so here are this week's bogey teams across a busy coupon.

Premier League: Blues good news for under-fire Amorim

Manchester United suffered a 3-0 thumping from neighbours Manchester City last Sunday and beleaguered Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim is under increasing pressure, having won just eight of his 31 Premier League in the Old Trafford dugout.

So, he will be delighted to see that Chelsea are the visitors on Saturday in a fixture in which United are unbeaten in 12 meetings.

Also the Blues have failed to score more than once on any of their last 13 visits to United, so there could be some respite for Amorim.

Meanwhile, home comforts often serve Liverpool well and never-more-so than in the Merseyside derby.

The Reds host Everton on Saturday lunchtime have lost just one of their last 15 dust-ups with the Toffees at Anfield.

Championship: Cracks showing in the Potters

Stoke City have been knocked off top spot in the Championship by Middlesbrough and the Potters may lose further ground at QPR, where they have won just once in their last eight visits.

QPR have won their last two matches, scoring six goals in the process and could extend their impressive record against Stoke.

Southampton have a long trip to Hull City to contend with on Saturday, but it may pay to have faith in the Saints as they have won on four of their last five visits to East Yorkshire.

League One: Wigan often trip up the Trotters

There is a tasty Lancashire hotpot in League One Saturday when Wigan Athletic make the short jaunt to Bolton Wanderers looking to extend their impressive record.

The Latics, who hammered Doncaster Rover 3-0 last week, have lost just twice in the league this term and have won on their last three visits to Bolton by an aggregate score of 10-0.

Ryan Lowe's side have not lost at Wanderers for almost 11 years, while Northampton Town may enjoy their clash at Wycombe Wanderers, where they have lost just one of their last seven visits.

League Two: Long trip for leaders

Swindon Town are leading the way in League Two and they head to Salford City on Saturday for a mouthwatering clash between first and third.

Salford could leapfrog their visitors with a victory, but the Robins won't fear the trip having lost just one of their last five matches at the Peninsula Stadium.

Home is where the heart is for Notts County, who host Crawley Town this weekend having won six of the last seven meetings between the two on their own patch.

Meanwhile, Cambridge United will welcome their latest fourth-tier fixture.

They host a Fleetwood Town side sitting just above them in League Two, but that could change on Saturday as the U's have lost just one of their last five visits from the Cod Army and beat them in all three meetings last term.
