  • Crystal Palace are unbeaten in nine Premier League outings

  • Palace have kept clean sheets in four of their last five matches

  • Recommended bet: Crystal Palace to win to nil

Sunderland have made a bright start to life back in the Premier League but the Black Cats may run out of luck when they visit FA Cup winners Crystal Palace this weekend.

Regis Le Bris' men have beaten Brentford and West Ham in the league this term, but both of those successes came on home soil. Their only away fixture yielded a 2-0 loss at fellow promoted side Burnley, and their travel-sickness may strike once more on this trip to south London.

Palace are a tough nut to crack on home soil and they could leapfrog this weekend's visitors with a comfortable win in which they keep a clean sheet.

Team news

Key duo Ismaila Sarr and Adam Wharton look set to miss out and the pair join a lengthy Palace injury list. New signings Christantus Uche and Yeremy Pino are major doubts this weekend, while Marc Guehi played and scored for England on Tuesday despite nursing a groin complaint.

Chadi Riad, Cheick Doucoure and Eddie Nketiah are long-term absentees.

Sunderland could see the returns of Dan Ballard, Luke O'Nien and Dennis Cirkin this weekend, while long-term absentee Aji Alese could also be available having been out since January.

Leo Hjelde and Romain Mundle are unlikely to feature for at least another month.

Prediction

Sunderland's last visit to Selhurst Park yielded a thumping 4-0 victory, but that successful south London jaunt came way back in 2017 and the sides have gone in opposite directions since then.

Palace have established themselves as Premier League regulars while the icing on the cake came with their first ever major trophy success in the FA Cup final in May.

Sunderland, meanwhile, have had to battle back from League One and their top-flight exile finally ended with a victory over Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final in May.

So plenty of water has passed under the bridge since the heady days of that 4-0 victory and Palace are fancied to turn the tables with a win to nil of their own.

Oliver Glasner's men have made a fine start to the season despite the turbulent transfer window and they could leap as high as second this weekend if they can see off the Black Cats and other results go their way.

The Eagles are juggling European commitments with their domestic campaign but a 0-0 draw at Chelsea was impressive, as was their 3-0 win away to Aston Villa prior to the international break.

Those were two of four clean sheets Palace have kept in their last five outings and they are fancied to stand firm with a win to nil against Sunderland on Saturday at a decent price.
