Girona vs Espanyol (Friday, 8pm)

Winless Girona could have to wait a little longer to get off the mark.

Visitors Espanyol have claimed 11 points from six matches – their sole defeat came against Real Madrid – and can claim a share of the spoils.

Score prediction: Girona 1-1 Espanyol

Getafe vs Levante (Saturday, 1pm)

This looks a good opportunity for Getafe to claim a fourth win of the season. The hosts beat Real Oviedo 2-0 in their last match at the Coliseum and lightning could strike twice against lowly Levante.

Score prediction: Getafe 2-0 Levante

Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid (Saturday, 3.15pm)

Score prediction: Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid

Real Mallorca vs Alaves (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Mallorca are still awaiting their first win, but the Balearic Islanders have had to grapple with a tough fixture list having already played Spain's big three. They could edge to victory over a blunt Alaves team.

Score prediction: Real Mallorca 1-0 Alaves

Villarreal vs Athletic Bilbao (Saturday, 8pm)

Villarreal have won all three home matches this term, scoring nine goals and the can see off an Athletic Bilbao team who tend to be weaker on their travels.

The Yellow Submarine will hope their potent attack can fire them to three points.

Score prediction: Villarreal 2-1 Athletic Bilbao

Rayo Vallecano vs Sevilla (Sunday, 1pm)

Rayo are winless in four, although a clash with struggling Sevilla represents a good chance for them to get things back up and running.

The hosts have held Barcelona and Celta Vigo to home draws, but could be set to claim maximum points on Sunday.

Score prediction: Rayo Vallecano 1-0 Sevilla

Elche vs Celta Vigo (Sunday, 3.15pm)

Unbeaten Elche have acquitted themselves well since being promoted and can make it three wins from four home matches when Celta Vigo visit Alicante.

Celta have scored in their last five matches, but could be jaded after a midweek European trip to Stuttgart.

Score prediction: Elche 2-1 Celta Vigo

Barcelona vs Real Sociedad (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Barcelona are in hot pursuit of Real Madrid and should see off Real Sociedad, who have made a stuttering start under Sergio Francisco.

Barca have scored nine goals in two home matches and could again cut loose.

Score prediction: Barcelona 3-0 Real Sociedad

Real Betis vs Osasuna (Sunday, 8pm)

A late Antony strike helped Real Betis salvage a Europa League point against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday and they should return to winning ways against Osasuna, who have lost all three road matches so far.

Score prediction: Real Betis 2-0 Osasuna

Valencia vs Real Oviedo (Monday, 8pm)

Valencia have claimed wins to nil in their last two matches at the Mestalla and should make it three against Real Oviedo.
