Top 4 FPL Players - Opening weekend

Sunderland's Daniel Ballard was the top points scorer in Gameweek 1
Only one player scored negative points, Wolves' Matt Doherty
Friday's clash between Liverpool and Bournemouth marked not only the return of the Premier League but also, more importantly to those looking to get one over their mates or work colleagues, the start of Fantasy Premier League.
There were some big performances from the usual suspects as well as some surprise packages and we have looked at the top scorer in each position from the opening weekend.
Goalkeeper - David Raya (Arsenal, £5.5m)
Last season's joint-Golden Glove winner David Raya picked up exactly where he left off against Manchester United, shutting out the Red Devils' new £200 million attack and earning his first clean sheet of the campaign.
The Gunners stopper was sensational, making seven saves to earn two extra points on top of the four he was awarded for the clean sheet. On top of that, Raya also earned the maximum three bonus points to finish clear as the best goalkeeper of the week, all that despite having a point taken away after receiving a yellow card.
Raya's first game went a long way towards proving those who believed he was by far and away the best £5.5 million keeper right, with the other premium picks scoring two or fewer points.
Defender - Daniel Ballard (Sunderland, £4.5m)
Sunderland's 3-0 win over West Ham was the shock result of the weekend but it was not the only surprise to come from that game as Daniel Ballard's 17 FPL points made him the highest-scoring player of the week.
The Black Cats defender scored his side's second of the game, earning him six points on top of the four he gained for the clean sheet, and the very few managers who owned him prior to last weekend were not done being rewarded there.
FPL's new defensive contributions system meant that Ballard, who made 14, also picked up two extra points. The Sunderland man was also awarded three bonus points and avoided a booking, meaning his mammoth total of 17 may not be beaten by a defender for a long while.
Midfielder - Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth, £7.1m)
Mohammed Salah is owned by over half of the FPL player base, but it was another midfielder, one over half the price of the Egyptian, who stole the show at Anfield, Antoine Semenyo.
The Ghanaian, who was subject to abuse from a Liverpool fan in the first half, silenced the Kop with a second-half brace to level the score at 2-2, earning himself 10 FPL points in the process.
His efforts were in vain as Bournemouth fell to a 4-2 defeat –Salah netted the fourth Liverpool goal – but they were not ignored by the Fantasy Premier League panel, who awarded Semenyo the three bonus points to take his tally to 15.
Forward - Erling Haaland (Manchester City, £14.5m), Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest, £7.6), Richarlison (Tottenham, £6.5m)
Both priced at an eyewatering £14.5m, the pre-season debate for most managers was whether to pick Erling Haaland or Salah. The Norwegian was picked less – his 27.7% ownership is 27% lower than Salah's – but he has taken the early lead thanks to a brace and three bonus points which earned him a total of 13 against Wolves.
He was not the only forward to score 13 points, however, as another FPL favourite, Chris Wood, matched Haaland's two-goal tally against Brentford. The Nottingham Forest forward scored 200 FPL points last term and he has made a great start this time around.
And there was another 13-point haul, too, and a more surprising one at that. Richarlison finds himself in less than 5% of FPL teams but he rewarded the very few managers to have faith in him by bagging a brace against Burnley, also picking up the three bonus points.
